Tour Description

The Family Fun Rafting begins from the breathtakingly beautiful Brúarhlöð canyon. The Hvítá river originates from Langjökull glacier and it is the river that creates the iconic Gullfoss waterfall. The river from Brúarhlöð has a mix of serene canyons and smooth waves for rafting. On this rafting journey you will sail down 4 kilometers, admiring a view you can only encounter while floating downstream in a boat.

We created this tour for the kids, so they can join in and play on the river. It’s been a big hit and makes for a great family friendly adventure. We begin a little further down the river than the River Fun Rafting tour does, as there the water becomes smoother and more child-friendly. Should one or more grown-ups prefer to join in on the whole river trip, the River Fun Rafting tour, then you are in luck. You can book the whole tour, and then you sail down to meet up with the rest of the family or group at Brúarhlöð.

You will be outfitted in a wetsuit to make the experience enjoyable and a life-jacket to keep everyone afloat. No previous rafting experience is needed and the tour is suitable for most ages and abilities.

Rafting down Hvítá is one of the best ways to spend any day, and we firmly believe that no family should leave Iceland without experiencing the fun of splashing down an Icelandic glacial river.

Fun for the whole family!
