Tour Description
The day begins with a pick up by our partner company Eldhestar from Reykjavík. We head out to the Vellir farm where the first half of the day is spent riding the unique Icelandic horse in beautiful surroundings. We encounter excellent trails for trying the special, smooth gait of the Icelandic horse “tölt”. We ride for about 1.5-2 hours on smooth trails alongside green meadows with volcanic views. After that a light lunch is served at Hotel Eldhestar.
After this enjoyable ride we will pick you up to go rafting in the glacier river Hvítá. Hvítá has an excellent mix of fun rapids and serene canyons. We provide everything neccessary to be comfortable in glacial waters. We raft down 7 kilometres enjoying breathtaking beauty from a different perspective.
We whole-heartedly recommend this lovely day in Iceland. Getting to know the gentle Icelandic horse and one of our great glacier rivers create a wonderful day in Iceland.
